How to update Universal Audio plugins
Universal Audio installs and updates UAD Native plugins through UA Connect. PluginHub shows what is installed and what is behind, and solves the one thing UA Connect makes awkward: it installs every UAD plugin whether you own it or not.
Where Universal Audio updates come from
Universal Audio installs and updates its plugins through its own application, UA Connect. That is where the installers live, so that is where an update gets installed.
How PluginHub helps
- It shows what you have. Every Universal Audio plugin on your machine, with its installed version, on one card.
- It tells you what is behind. PluginHub checks your versions against what Universal Audio currently ships, so an out-of-date plugin is flagged before you notice anything in a session.
- It sends you to the right place. The Universal Audio card has a button that opens UA Connect, where the update installs.
- Hide what you do not own. UA Connect puts every UAD plugin on your drive. PluginHub never reads your licenses, so it cannot tell owned from unowned by itself, but the Universal Audio card lets you hide the ones you do not own, and they stay hidden through UA updates.
The steps
- Open PluginHub and run a check. The Universal Audio card lists any plugins with a newer version available.
- Open UA Connect from the card and install the updates there.
- Run another check. The flagged plugins show as up to date.
