PluginHub checks public vendor pages for version or update information so users can see whether plugins they already have installed may need attention.

What to expect

Our User-Agent identifies us with a URL pointing to this page:

Requests associated with PluginHub:

• Access only publicly available pages
• Are limited to update and version discovery
• Respect robots.txt directives
• Do not log in, bypass access controls, or access any private systems

What we won't do

• Bypass paywalls, login walls, or any authentication layer
• Pretend to be a browser or obscure our identity
• Redistribute your version data or content from your site
• Continue scraping if you've asked us to stop

The cleaner way: publish a plugin manifest

The best integration is one small JSON file on your own site listing your products and their current versions. You become the authority for your own version data: no scraping, no crawler traffic, no wrong versions shown to your customers.

The format is an open, MIT-licensed specification with a JSON Schema, examples, and a one-line validator:

More than a dozen vendors already publish it in production. Host the file at a stable URL (conventionally yourdomain.com/pluginhub.json), email us the link, and PluginHub switches from reading your pages to reading your manifest.
